Main Page

The NBCC Mobile First Technology initiative (MFTi) reviews emerging technologies designed to help people improve their household energy usage and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. These include remote sensing technologies that enable the capture of temperature, electrical load, and other household environmental data; technologies that enable remote control of devices in the home, such as thermostats; and software and hardware ecosystems and standards that enable the aforementioned technologies to interoperate effectively.

MFTi has developed software systems to collect real-time home energy data and to educate home owners about ways to improve household energy usage.
