The NBCC Mobile First Technology initiative's (MFTi) research goals in this area are to design technologies that

  • Enable aging as a positive experience, and
  • Foster age-friendly communities.

MFTI has received a number of requests to design or evaluate technologies that address life-critical issues facing seniors, including fire and flood prevention in living spaces, falls prevention, and facilitating various aspects of in-home healthcare and daily activities.
